weakness to platform
"Brooke, you need to start a blog.."
I've heard these words for a while now. I've thought about it, denied the idea...and then repeat. I have always been told I am "good with words," but what does that even mean? I read blog posts often and knew I didn't have what it took to actually sit down and string words together beautifully to formulate something that readers, like myself, would continue reading.
Oh, but here I am.
I'm pretty terrible with technology. If you could've seen me trying to figure out how to simply add a title to this thing, you would probably be concerned about how I have made it through public school this long..so bear with me.
The Lord has been teaching me a thing or two about how He desires to use our weaknesses to manifest the goodness of God. One of my favorite examples of that is when God comes to Moses and tells him that he will be used to bring the Israelites out of bondage.
In Exodus chapter 4 verse 10 Moses says, '.."Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."'
BUT what The Lord says in verse 11 & 12 is so beautiful. "Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?".. Now Go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say"
As I sit here on the edge of my bed, knowing I am not worthy of the grace He so freely gives, yet in awe of the opportunities I am given to serve The Lord.
Even if my grandmother and mother are the only ones that take time to read, Thank you JESUS that even still, You are speaking through me.. just like You did for Moses.
Although, it is my heart's desire for you, as a reader of this little blog, to only see Jesus through it.. I want you to know a little bit about me so that we could build relationships and you'll know a tad bit about the broken vessel on this side of the computer screen.
The name of this blog is inspired by the fact that my mother really and truly named me from a character on the Soap Opera "Bold and Beautiful" named Brooke Logan...yeah she did that. But the alliteration is nice and it kind fits ;).
I am a senior at Smiths Station High School and have plans to serve the Lord for the rest of my days. How stinking exciting.
I love sunflowers and I love smiling and I love people.
I am the youngest of 6 kiddos.
and
I hope whoever you are on the other side of this post, that you consider me a friend. Because that'd be pretty nice. You are loved and prayed for, you precious soul.
all my love -Brooke
